In the following video walkaround, you can view the Lunar Rock RAV4 up-close and from all angles to help you determine if this is the right shade for you.

Which RAV4s Are Available in Lunar Rock?

Since the color’s release in 2019, Lunar Rock is available across many different RAV4 trims:

  • 2019-2023 RAV4 XLE (Gas, Hybrid)
  • 2019-2023 RAV4 XLE Premium (Gas, Hybrid)
  • 2019-2023 RAV4 Adventure
  • 2020-2021 RAV4 TRD Off-Road

The RAV4 XLE and XLE Premium are two of the range’s most popular trims, particularly when it comes to the color Lunar Rock. This popularity is also due to their affordability when compared to the other RAV4 trims.

The RAV4 Adventure, on the other hand, is designed with outdoor enthusiasts in mind. It’s available in unique, two-tone color variations – including the popular Lunar Rock with Ice Edge roof. Plus, it comes with raised roof rails to accommodate more cargo, as well as several other features which make adventuring easier and more comfortable. In fact, the RAV4 Adventure was the first trim level to offer all-wheel drive.

It’s not to be confused with the top-of-the-line TRD Off-Road, however. It’s the highest trim level upgrade for a Lunar Rock RAV4 and is available with the 2020 and 2021 RAV4. As you’d expect, it comes with several unparalleled off-roading features, such as 18.0-inch wheels, integrated LED fog lights, higher roof rails, an upgraded navigating system, and more.

What Interior Comes with the Lunar Rock RAV4?

If you’re considering purchasing a Lunar Rock RAV4, you might be wondering what interior colors you also have to choose from. Because of Lunar Rock’s unique hue, it’s understandable that you won’t want an interior shade that clashes with this green-grey color.

As of the 2023 model year, you can get the following interior colors with a Lunar Rock RAV4:

XLE (Gas, Hybrid):

The Lunar Rock RAV4 XLE is available in three different interior colors, including standard black, ash grey, and light yellow-brown. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the most popular color combination with Lunar Rock is Ash Fabric, as owners have stated that they like the two-tone ash interior (light and dark grey), over the solid black. For those looking for something lighter and brighter, however, the Nutmeg fabric really pops against the green-grey exterior.

XLE Premium (Gas, Hybrid):

The Lunar Rock RAV4 XLE Premium is also available in the same colors as the XLE trim, however the Softex provides an upgrade to the standard Fabric. Essentially, Softex is a synthetic leather material that’s soft-to-the-touch, extremely resistant to spills, and allows for effortless cleaning.

The Lunar Rock RAV4 Adventure trim is also available in Black Softex but comes with the addition of another color: Mocha. This interior is predominantly made up of very dark brown, along with light grey and a small pop of dark orange. It’s a great option for those who can’t quite decide on an all-dark or all-light interior to accompany their Lunar Rock exterior.

Is it Difficult to Find a Lunar Rock RAV4?

The short answer is yes, it can be difficult to find a Lunar Rock RAV4 – both new and used. Not only is it one of Toyota’s most sought-after colors, but the manufacturer is also experiencing global vehicle demand that currently exceeds supply in some countries. This is resulting in longer-than-usual waiting times for RAV4s in standard colors, let alone the more unique shade of Lunar Rock.

In terms of finding a used Lunar Rock RAV4, your options may also be limited.  Most used RAV4s currently being sold are in standard metallic colors, so finding a Lunar Rock version among these would be extremely lucky.

The Bottom Line

The Lunar Rock RAV4 is one of Toyota’s most popular offerings, and for plenty of good reasons too. Not only is the RAV4 one of the most popular SUVs in the world, but its Lunar Rock exterior is unique, flattering, and stylish.

Although it may be more difficult to get your hands on one of these highly sought-after models, it does pay to register your interest early with your local dealership or keep an eye out on used car websites daily. Of course, there are multiple trims of Lunar Rock RAV4s currently on the market, so take your time to carefully research all of your options.
